I did a larger painting of this sketch in watercolor and I loved how it hard turned out.  So I had to give it a shot with oil paints. Working with the palette knife is harder than it looks!

I also feel the color palette is intense.  I didn’t do swatches before starting this piece.  I think if i had, I could’ve had more shades and hues to work with that could made this a tad bit less intense and flow better.

All lessons learned aside, the ground looks amazing!
