One Reason I Get Sad Sometimes Is

Krishna Patel Novice Adult 0 Comments

Oh, let’s get rich and buy our parents homes in the south of France… Let’s get rich and build a house on the mountain making everybody look like ants. From way up there, you and I, you and I I’ve been silently obsessed with this song for a week and a half. In these few lines Ingrid Michaelson sums up a few of my life’s dreams beautifully.  It’s not necessarily about the money but providing for and taking care of the two people who have provided and sacrificed for me. So I’m currently excavating my inner self from barriers and limiting beliefs and in doing so I’ve been writing my morning pages.  With that there are sometimes questions and prompts …

The Moon

Last week me and PK watched the documentary Antartica on Netflix. It was about how a majority of the earth’s population doesn’t know much about it. How it is so cold, far, and vast that it takes a certain type of person to visit let alone live there. It shared some of the hidden beauties and realities of the circle of life in such a climate. What stood out to me the most was the months where it was mostly dark. The winter. Where there is 2 months of where the sun doesn’t really rise or set but it visible on the horizon and the two months where you don’t see the sun at all. The light and noise pollution …

Feeding My Mind

Krishna Patel Novice Adult 0 Comments

I have had such an incredible week of learning and feeding my appetite of knowledge. I’ve learned tremendous new things about marketing. I’ve explored analytics in a whole new way and most importantly, I’ve watched lessons on how to watercolor, travel watercolor, pattern design, batch photo editing in photoshop, and more. It feels incredibly to learn new things. It’s invigorating, empowering, and most importantly fulfilling. In addition to this I’ve been reading like Hermione Granger before exams! Nothing that would give me a step up in the workplace or enable me to teach something in academia but stuff of fiction, fantasy, the imagination. Filling the need for the unbelievable, the possible, and the unknown. With this I get about 4 …

Our Wedding – By PK

Krishna Patel Novice Adult 0 Comments

Our wedding – was a wonderful one. It feels good to say that because we were really nervous and really anxious and really stressed basically several months leading up to it. Someone once told us that it would be the fastest day of our lives. He was right. Even though Hindu weddings are a whole weekend type of thing, it went super fast.  As fast as it was, we have some great memories of several things. My guys supported me, my family and Krishna extremely well. It really made all the difference because without their support, things would have been so much chaotic. Sure, nothing was going to be exactly perfect. Yes, there were things that were off. But, what …

My Take on Gun Laws & Gun Violence

Krishna Patel Novice Adult 0 Comments

But this video really brings home the point. I believe people have the right to own a gun but I don’t believe that EVERYONE should own one.  There should be training, a psych evaluation, and some sort of personal investigation of the person’s character.  I’m not stupid to think that this is foolproof or that it will solve the problems but I think it would dramatically reduce the amount of homicides, suicides, and accidental murders our country is plagued with. I’m glad this video was created because I actually wrote the following in May 2014 but figured it was too emotional of a topic for me to share at the time.  Please note this doesn’t touch on the cop on citizen violence or …

Breaks are the Death of My Productivity

Krishna Patel Novice Adult 0 Comments

Breaks are the death of my productivity and here are some things I’m doing to get my groove back. Seriously, I know everyone is a firm believer in get up – stretch, take a walk, switch tasks. blah blah blah. With the amount of information, articles, and to do’s around just taking breaks has resulted in me taking more breaks then actually working. I’m sure not everyone has this issue but just take a minute to think of the items on your to do list and your “i’d rather do this” list.  Are there items on there that have grown roots and are growing leaves? You know what I’m talking about — that to do item that you’ve re-written as you’ve …

We’re Married…again!

Krishna Patel Novice Adult 0 Comments

I’m married!! Again! Or is it my one year anniversary! I’m not sure how to start this post. PK believes we just got married, I believe it’s our 1 year. Ahh the joys of having things to debate for the rest of our lives hahaha. Okay first off — I had a GREAT time (whoa I know). Let’s take a moment to roll your eyes at me. For all the bitching and complaining and stress. Secondly, I made a choice to have a good time. SO HA! I could’ve made it miserable if I had really wanted but I made a choice and man I’m happy I did. Third, although I had a WONDERFUL time. I’m not 100% sure if …

Bathing Suits

Krishna Patel Novice Adult 0 Comments

As you know our summer has been packed with many visits to the beach and pool!  As a curvy woman a bikini isn’t necessarily the best choice when picking out swim wear.  Especially since I’m not completely comfortable with myself.  I’ve only now been able to openly admit this because I’ve started working on it! (yay #burn1k!) I won’t lie though — there are a lot of darling bikinis out there and the fact that they dry MUCH faster and are super easy to change out of doesn’t hurt and makes me super envy of those who choose to rock one! At the beginning of summer I purchased a few bathing suits.  One-pieces and although I love the fit and coverage…I …

Good Deed

Krishna Patel Novice Adult 0 Comments

No good deed goes unpunished.  Another thing I always knew but got a slap in the face reminder of recently. It’s amazing how much you can put forth for others. Financially, emotionally, physically and no matter what it is – seriously — NO MATTER….it’s just a shit show.  Every single time. I wonder why that is — I wonder why good deeds have such shitty outcomes that sometimes make you want to pull a Britney Spears? Perhaps it’s the balance of some cosmic scale somewhere.  If something good is happening we need a bad thing to neutralize it.  Too much of a good thing is bad in the end anyhow.  Something about moderation.  Too much of anything is bad for …
